When a stock pays a cash dividend, the stock
price is reduced by the amount of the dividend. The
market may move the price up from there, but make no
mistake about it, the dividend is not free money. The day
the stock goes ex dividend it will open $12 dollars
below the prior close, unless demand for the stock
pushes up the bid, but I doubt it will push it that
much.

trades ex-dividend, but, remember, before the
announcement, the stock was trading at about 28 1/2 and it has
not shown an increase of 12 dollars from there. I
firmly believe that ex-dividend it may drop maybe about
6 points, which will be still good........
It is true that they will pay out big $ as
dividend but the share price will be reduced by the amount
of distribution. The following is extracted from one
of their press releases:
"On the ex-dividend
date, the price of the
Company's shares is expected
to decrease by the amount of the
distribution."
