CAMPBELL, Calif. -- Sylantro Systems Corporation, the leading provider of hosted PBX and IP Centrex solutions to service providers around the world, today announced the ongoing success of its development, marketing and sales alliance with Microsoft Corp., and the second major customer win for their integrated solution at SOFTBANK BB of Japan. On December 28, 2005 Microsoft, SOFTBANK BB and JAPAN TELECOM announced that they are developing an integrated communications service that combines voice over IP (VoIP), e-mail, Internet access, groupware, presence, instant messaging, and desktop services with network infrastructure, and have formed a strategic relationship to provide this service as a business-oriented solution (See Microsoft announcement “Microsoft, SOFTBANK BB and JAPAN TELECOM Announce Strategic Relationship to Provide Integrated Voice, E-mail, Groupware, Instant Messaging and Desktop Services”).
Through an alliance announced in June 2005, Microsoft is integrating Sylantro’s application feature server with hosted versions of Microsoft server products including Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005 and Windows SharePoint Services. The resulting product, the Microsoft Solution for Enhanced VoIP Services, enables service providers to offer business subscribers combined VoIP, e-mail, groupware, instant messaging, and desktop services. In September, Microsoft announced their first win with a large U.S. carrier who is deploying the solution to provide a comprehensive set of communications services to small and mid-sized businesses.
