You can do that today by simply plugging in your Sprint 3G/4G USB modem into a cell modem router.

Plenty of small form factor cell modem routers out there today, if you want to take it around.

A widely used brand is CradlePoint.

Also, this is the way to avoid any OS incompatibility hassle as seen reported by users on Sprint.com device customers reviews.

I remember the post. It was part of a thread I started.

3G/4G MiFi 29-Oct-09 11:38 pm Wonder when it's coming out. Should be a compelling device.

I guess I got my answer.

    • y'know, greek...this WiMax router "thingy" :-)

...is THE device at THE right time for Sprint.Sprint has the first 4g action and this implements the 4g in an incredibly broad way.....AND in a way that AT&T and Verizon can't yet implement!So.....this gets a groundswell going.....more of a groundswell going...for Sprint. And, along with the AT&T bashing(it was headlined inn the news lately that AT&T is the carrier people love to hate!)....I feel that there will be a lot of people turning their heads and thoughts to Sprint(hmmmmmm,"Sprint, huh?,I'm gonna check them oit....").The 4g network is what is needed NOIW,with all the spectrum-devouring technology coming in by leaps and bounds. This router is a brilliant way to push the network.Brilliant!

I'm holding onto this stock for the longterm. No swingtrading for me,this one.

      cheers

    • They laughed at my name. Darn.

      Then came Damn.

Now that's funny, I don't care who you are!

      Darn

As for wanting Sprint to fail, remember that I have a relative who works for Sprint.

Her livelihood depends on Sprint not failing.

There was an emperor in his fantastic new clothes that only the smart could see, the story went.

He was not served but by a boy who said unto him that he wasn't wearing any clothes.

    • Tarn will lose his ass if Sprint goes to 5. He needs the stock to srop or his PUTS expire worthless !

Lucky for him that his parents allow him to live at home at age 38 :)

    • The Cradle point solution is awkward from a portability standpoint. The 3G MiFi has been a big seller. I could see holstering one of these devices to my belt.

If dropping the 3G 5GB cap for 3G is true, then that is pretty a nice marketing advantage.

Tarn, you come across like you want Sprint to fail.
