    FCC: LS2 Won’t Be Permitted To Mess With GPS

    In other words LightSquared is now Dead Man Walking. Caught up in a never ending GPS interference battle that it will eventually lose. Sprint and Hesse now have to totally rethink their 4G roll out plans.

    Burned bridges with Clearwire
    Congressional action coming to prvent LS2 from ever operating.
    No FCC timetable to review LightSquared matter and when a ruling is finished it will not be in Lightsquared favor.

      LightSquared has acknowledged that its LTE signals do serious harm GPS and LightSquared has no way to correct the problem. Therefore the FCC has publicly stated the following.

      The FCC, which is now trying to decide whether to allow LightSquared's mobile broadband proposal to move forward, recognizes the importance of GPS (Global Positioning System) as a consumer service and as a service used by the military, airplanes and other groups, the FCC officials said.
      The FCC won't allow interference with GPS, one official there said.

      So the death knell sounds for lightsquared. May it rest in peace.
