To me, the abandonment by HRB of its famous trademark "TaxCut" in favor of "H&R Block at Home" was truly stupid, the sign of a deficient management, flailing around for a magic bullet and thinking that a name change would do the trick. Shades of New Coke!
Worked for HRB as part time tax preparer for three years. They hire anybody that can warm a seat to do tax returns. Very poor. Once a tax payer does their own taxes using software/web they will never go back to HRB. This business will not exist in 10 years.
They're really not a software company but maybe they can make the transition. They'll have to play catch-up to other players in the tax software field.
According to the Summary page, Yahoo calculates YTD from August 31. Yahoo lists the closing price of OAKLX as 24.66 on Jan. 4, the first trading day of the year and on August 31, the price was 23.29. By my figuring, this is a 5.5% loss.
As of today’s close, the fund is up 77 cents from Jan. 4, a gain of 3.12%
