opie - you are exactly right. I love these opportunities, where the trial "fails" in the eyes of the lame-brained short-term traders who never did any due diligence to begin with, but the reality is that the trial results clearly show the drug to be effective and safe for the most important patient population - i.e. the patients with the highest degree of illness. The analogy is saying a flu drug doesn't work, because it worked as good as placebo in patients that only had a 1 degree fever, versus those that had a fever of 2+. The statistical noise in patients that have mild illness/symptoms isn't what drives an FDA decision.
