    • Danodemano --- your obliviousness is so complete there is obviously no point in your even possessing organs of speech, since there is no brain to power them.

I am sure that IF Sen. Ted Cruz blocked the confirmation of Tom Wheeler, he must have a damned good reason for #$%$ so.

It is you and the rest of the mental vacuum tubes out there (i.e., democrats) who are the "nut-jobs," notwithstanding how inadequately that term actually fails to capture the true depth of your insanity.

      • Why did Cruz do this? Because he opposes the DISCLOSE Act, a bill that would require super PACS, corporations, unions and other outside groups to disclose to the Federal Elections Commission when they spend more than $10,000 to air political campaign ads. Democrats and public interest groups have been urging passage of the bill as a way to bring greater transparency to political ad funding, but many conservative groups and lawmakers oppose the legislation. In April, Cruz and other GOP senators wrote a letter to the FCC saying the bill raises “grave constitutional concerns for speech protected by the First Amendment.”

After your Repub gods got through desiccating the economy Obama was left with the mess. I know he is half black, get over it and please secede. You and Tea party suck-ups start your own country.

    • Given that our true national debt is well over $ 222 Trillion dollars, That's $ 222,000,000,000,000.00 or about $ 716,000.00 per person, you should reconsider who's priorities are twisted, and to which party the nut-jobs worship. What better way to destroy a country than to bankrupt it morally and fiscally?
In order to keep this relevant, yet still political, also consider the article below... If FCC does not approve, we know why.
May God Bless America, Ted Cruz, The Tea Party, and Globalstar.

Did the FCC try to drive a LightSquared competitor into bankruptcy?

posted at 8:40 am on February 22, 2012 by Ed Morrissey

The Daily Caller follows up on its dot-connecting yesterday on the Obama administration’s efforts to make LightSquared pay off for its Democratic-donor backers with a look at the other side of crony capitalism. Matthew Boyle tells the story of the original government effort to expand broadband to rural areas, Open Range, which partnered with GlobalStar, a competitor of LightSquared’s predecessor company Skyterra. The difference between the two was that GlobalStar actually owned spectrum allocated for terrestrial cell-system use, which Open Range wanted to use to expand broadband.

Open Range had already received a hefty loan from the USDA’s Rural Utilities Service to roll out their service, but GlobalStar needed to have more satellites in the air to maintain its FCC approval to operate in both spectrum allocations simultaneously. In 2008, the FCC granted GlobalStar a 16-month window to resolve the situation, but a 2009 earthquake in Italy disrupted the completion of the satellites, and they asked for another significant extension. The FCC then slow-walked the waiver application while expediting the sale of Skyterra to newly-minted Obama backer Philip Falcone and Harbinger, now the hedge-fund parent of LightSquared:

      • Were wall these conservative tax-free "freedom fighters" when Bush Jr went on a spending spree, put 2 wars on a credit card and gave the drug companies $110 Billion bonus? They didn't seem give a rat's #$%$ then?? Yes, you can count the obligations in the balance sheet if you want... but tell me why does the gov't borrow 2.9 Trillion from the Social Security fund if it's such a bad program??

Why, cause they don't have the ballz to balance the budget shortfall on the backs of the rich. Or control the MASSIVE CORPORATE WELFARE that is the military industrial complex, subsidies for Big OIL, Big Agra, Big Pharma, on and on.

But NO that'd rather target the urban single mom of a couple of hundred million. There are 200 billion from the Iraq war that no budget committee can even figure where the money went!

Look your guy Cruz picks some weird battles ... Soon he'll be re-writing his own history... that he was born in the USA so he can run for president. God save us.

      • I am no fan of cowardly Republicans. They took our nation to the edge then blinked. If they did not have the ballz to see it to the end. Then they should of never let the government shut down to begin with. Obama would have blinked. Those SLUGS in the Senate will be the ruin of our country. When this nation defaults on its debt. You will have wished it was done earlier when we actually had resources to fix it and an adequately staffed Military to Defend us. We have a very big pill to swallow. Pushing it further up the road only increases its size and toxicity. Ted Cruz was a warrior with Juda's as allies. SHAME ON McConnel! I hope the Tea Party eats his lunch during the Kentucky Primary. He sold out his Nation, Morals, and Principals for a 2 billion kickback to his state. I wish the Tea Party would form their own party. Join with the Libertarians. Re-energize the Libertarian-Conservative.

Remember, everyone on here is frightened by what the Obama Adminstrations lackies in the FCC might do to benefit friends of the Obama's. Having two more of his hacks on the FCC will not do Globalstar any favors. If Clyburn brings it to the Commission. We are Golden. Ted Cruz is probably doin us a favor. Everyone here wants to profit off of Free Market Capitalism. At this point it is the Government that is Globalstar's only obstacle. If it not for the Tea Party and individuals like Ted Cruz. Who would there be to appose Obama's Cronism from destroying this Wonderful Country of ours.

I have generally tried to stay away from politics and on more than a few people whine and cry about my posting of Blessing's from God of Globalstar. Yet you guys will sit here and encourage people throwing worthless political propaganda all over it that serves no purpose what so ever. Hippocrats! If that be the case. So Mote It Be!

        God Bless the U.S.A.!
        God Bless Globalstar!
        God Bless Ted Cruz!
God Bless the Conservative Republican's in the House of Representatives!
        God Bless the Tea Party!

        AMEN!

      • Citing the earthquake and disruptions because of the global financial meltdown, GlobalStar filed a request with the Obama administration’s FCC on Dec. 14, 2009, asking for an additional temporary waiver from the agency’s requirements so it could continue building its network.

The FCC didn’t acknowledge receipt of the extension request until March 5, 2010, and didn’t open it up for public notice until four weeks later, on April 2.

During the months while GlobalStar’s request languished in the FCC’s slow-moving bureaucracy, the agency was helping to finalize the sale of SkyTerra to Harbinger. That company would ultimately become LightSquared.

Eventually, the FCC would extend the deadline only until September 15th. While GlobalStar tried to get the FCC to extend the deadline further, the FCC spent the summer flirting with LightSquared, which intended to use satellite-communications spectrum rather than terrestrial spectrum to build their 4G network. In mid-September, with GlobalStar’s extension expiring in just hours, the FCC seemed much more interested in how to make it look like Harbinger hadn’t stuck it to Open Range than in the merits of the Open Range/GlobalStar waiver request:

Documents show that on Sept. 13, three days after Adelstein sent his email, Obama’s technology adviser Phil Weiser hosted another White House meeting. Attendees included Adelstein, de Sa and several other high-ranking officials in the FCC and USDA.

Later that day, after the meeting, Adelstein emailed de Sa in what appears to be an indication of what transpired.

“Thanks for taking so much time for the helpful meeting today,” Adelstein wrote. “Would you mind letting the Harbinger folks know I will call them soon so we look like a coordinated effort so they don’t feel they have unlimited leverage to stick it to Open Range?”

“Happy to hook you up,” de Sa replied, “although one thought is that at the moment the ball is in openrange [sic] court (in that they have the term sheet)

    • The Republicans campaigned on JOBS, JOBS, JOBS!!! and then do squat, and block any body and anything for power's sake. They vote to overturn Obamacare 45 times?! Sheesh DO SOMETHING ELSE!!

The Tea Party clearly wants our attention over the deficits, but they don't play nice, but don't want to increase taxes on the rich or reduce taxes on the poor. They say the rich will create jobs ... the more likely they'll sit on it than spend it like our patriotic poor... as Bush said "Keep shopping".

The markets were saved by a last minute deal. Yay. “Mission Accomplished!” . Our government should close each month and we will be at 1800 on the S&P by year’s end! Rinse, repeat, rinse…

      Sentiment: Hold

    • Tea Partiers are insane. They need to start their own party if they are so convinced in their ways. Instead, they hold the republican party and the American public hostage with their concentrated "way-far-right" beliefs.
