    ENB - picture of incompetence

Why is Enbridge not held accountable to pay the $800 million it cost the US taxpayer to mop up the spill along with collateral damage

What's this with the $3.7 million fine..that's chicken crap.
Pipelines are supposed to be depreciated over 40 years....after that, they should be requalified to allow continued operation.

Where was the pipeline integrity management system - monitoring....corrosion protection etc
    how about emergency response execution

CEO should be fired & fined.
Enbridge should NOT be allowed to run any new pipelines until they clean up their act....and remediate ALL of their existing pipelines.

    • Wow Ceph, I think you are on the wrong board. Is there a Solyndra or some other green board you can find to opine on? Or are they all out of business and owe the U.S. tax payer billions?

      • I am anything BUT a tree fact most of my investments are in the oil and gas.
By beef with that they seem to operate irresponsibly based on the incident....they knew corrosion was an issue and did not follow through.

Pipeline integrity mgmt. is just good business - mitigation of risk is good for the bottom line.
Why were not embedded detectors to detect spills in critical areas.
They now jeopardize their Northern Gateway project.

BP is another bad actor....pervasive culture on poor safety and reliability.
        We all know what happened.

The impacts are twofold: Remediation costs + fines
and increased capital costs and regulations on future projects.
