    • [LOL, I hope you CON see the irony. Sounds like something Bush would say, no?????]

Obama was open an honest about government's record with IT…he spoke the truth. But blaming government's track record doesn't get Obama off the hook for launching the site, when it wasn't ready to be launched. Bush would likely have said something similar.

[LOL, O get duh guys from the NSA to run duh damm thing, they're good at I.T!!!!]

But what would it have cost?

        looking,
IF the likes of Snowden and the Navy Yars shooter--that is, the private sector--were kept out of it, around 85% of what it did with a far, far greater degree of efficiency and granularity, allowing capitalist, not oligarchical, insurance companies to prosper.

      • Looking, maybe you didn't get the irony, nor why I added an ObamaCare post to this government inefficiency thread. O is basically telling you Government is inefficient, bureaucratic and cumbersome CONpared to the private sector. Sounds like he just figured that out now. I guess this also explains why he wants to grow government, cause they're so efficient versus the private sector???

[When we buy I.T. services generally, it is so bureaucratic and so cumbersome that a whole bunch of it doesn’t work or it ends up being way over cost.]

Wake up and smell the roses, it's not just IT, it's just about everything the government does and touches. So, is he gonna fix any of that sheet?? Seems like something worth addressing, no??? 40 More Years, Yes We CON!!!

    • Looking I'll get to the article soon (skimmed it but have some issues with it), it's from 1996, right?

In the meantime I thought the following was topical:

From O's November 7th Interview, CONplaining about why ZeroCare ain't working as he envisioned.

[You know, one of the lessons - learned from this whole process on the website - is that probably the biggest gap between the private sector and the federal government is when it comes to I.T.
      ...
Well, the reason is is that when it comes to my campaign, I’m not constrained by a bunch of federal procurement rules, right?
      ...

looking, I just read a piece in LRB that asked--in re the UK, but the same applies here--"Given the scale of disasters "business" has created for itself over the past decade, why on earth would anyone want government to be more like business?" And the clear answer is--"So big financial houses can raid government more efficiently."
