    napart's posts are funny, original

better than some tired, incorrect miscalculation
mislabeled as book value, intrinsic value, Mr. Market value,
true value, personal value, future value, earning's
    value, present value.....

    the only true
brk-related thing (in my opinion) i've seen on this board is
that no-one here is bright enough to have insight
(equal to web's) about buying grn; we can only guess why
he bought it, but we can be confident he expects it
to be worth more than what he gave up for it

    • "We can only guess why he bought it, but we

      I don't have thge
pretension to know the real value of BRK. But there is one
thing that I am sure about: Before the deal we had
around 40 000$ of investment for an A share and now we
have 48 000 $ after the dilutive effect. So that alone
      justified the bought.

And there is much more, some I
see, some I don't. But just the first reason was
enough. Lots of people try to be fancy but it is not
necessary. You can see my post #4054 for Charlie and Web on
calculating the value of a company.

    • A well respected Wall Street firm thinks BRK will
be added to the S&P possibly at the time of the
closing of the transaction with GRN or sometime after. Is
this possible ? and what impact would it have ?

    • WEB does expect GRN to be worth more than he gave
for it, because GRN is a decent company and he got it
for $22 billion of funny money.

      Acknowledging
WEB as the master investor of all time, BRK is still
an over-priced collection of over-valued companies
for the present. Buy now, hold for 10 years, OK--just
expect to be seriously underwater for some periods in
the next 2 to 4 years.

      • so you think Buffett is going to use the bond
money (GRN) he got with the funny money to buy "deals"
        after the market crash this
        October?

PS: How 'bout that shootout in the Capitol? Rage
        Against the Machine...

      • Wow, this is a pretty strong statement!! Would
you care to back it up with some reasoning or do you
simply enjoy seeing your name in print??
        With a
stock that is up so much already this year, what is
going so awfully wrong that is would all of a sudden
        turn so south??
Two weeks ago from this date,
Lazlo Birini was on Wall street Week with Louis
Rukeyser and he stated that his number one pick for the
next six months was "Berkshire-Hathaway B"!!! Now my
question to you is what record do you have to match Lazlo
Birini's??? He is, year after year, the number one stock
picker on Rukeysers show. His pick from Jan 1 to July 1
were up over 50% and the best of all the guests on the
        show.
Give us a sound reason for a statement like
you just made. We are all waiting for your answer so
we can contemplate selling of this stock???
