    • I am using stated equity which I know overstates
book! Therefore, the REITS bought at or near book are
also below liquidation. Also, I can't think of a
better inflation hedge than income producing
      real-estate.

    • << I bought 10 total at, near or
significantly below book growing 5% to 27% and paying an avg
      divie of 9.40%..>

      Good job! .... and don't
you Love those dividends! (sorry Napart... no
offense!) ;-) You should be getting a string of dividend
checks soon... I just got my first one last week...
$1000 bucks! Howz that for a frik'n dividend? 'Sure
beats the piddly $40 or so I'm used to
      seeing...

BTW... when you say you bought 'below book value' are
you referring to the numbers in the finacial
statement, or the actual liquidation value? You probably
already know this, but Book Value for REITS is typically
significantly understated... because it's listed on the books
at purchase price, not the current appreciated
      value.... Awesome!

    • Yep, I would have prefered it if Buffett had laid
low for less than one more week. However, I bought
the last two today. I only had to pay about 10% more
on the last three instead of scraping the bottom
before the nice 5 to 15% per REIT run last week. I
bought 10 total at, near or significantly below book
growing 5% to 27% and paying an avg divie of 9.40% so I
      am not complaining.

      :)))

    • Doesn't it suck that Buffett had to go in and
'announce' he's buying some REIT stock??? There were so many
bargains out there it was like picking money up off the
floor..... now he ruined it for all us value hunters.... I
like Buffett, but sometimes he over does it.... I know
you were in there accumulating REITS also... hope you
finished buying before the recent run up.

      ps. And
why did he have to 'announce' just before dividend
season? Oh, well... win some, lose some! :-)
