About a month ago I received a flyer from Tobin Smith about Petrosonic. I bought the stock at about $1. It went to about $1.35. I thought I was really doing well. Then the stock fell clear down to $.70 and I sold at a loss. I finally read that Tobin was a pump and dump artist. However, today I received another flyer form Tobin. Saying to buy the stock around $1 and get really rich. If you invest $10,000, you will sell it for $50,000. I did not bite this time, but maybe I should. Get in now and dump when it goes to $1.35.
This Tobin guy seems to be some kind of a con artist.
A warning to all; Whenever you get a flyer in the mail promoting one stock, there will be a disclaimer in it informing the reader that the person was paid to promote the stock. Yes, there might be some information on subscribing to a newsletter, but the person was PAID to promote the stock with said flyer.
Most investors have probably "invested" in one or Two of these over the years. If you are going to buy these companies at all, here is my suggestion: Wait at least 4-5 months after the initial pump. Then you can see if they do a quarterly report, and if they actually have a business.
It is absolutely amazing how many of them have no actual business whatsoever, and go bankrupt without EVER generating any revenue at all. Of course, individual investors are left holding the bag.
