I will tell you this.
There is more politics in the FDA, NIH, NSF, and the scientific process (in general) than politics normally reserved for politicians.
I can assure you that politics played a role in Provenge's approval. I have no doubt that strong outcry from the public helped to force an approval decision.
The FDA is made of PEOPLE, not robots. And they are as susceptible to ego, greed, politics, and pressure just as easily as anyone else.
That is reality.
And "NO", Provenge has NOT proving that it works.
BTW, load up on AFFY for the long haul. Affymax is a company that will be much higher by Summer. They already have a big pharma partner. Also, there is a legitimate reason to think they will be bought out, maybe this year?
It's not about management. NOTHING will change, even if Dendreon goes through a dozen CEOs.
It's the product. There is waaaaay too much doubt that Provenge even works. A $93K product should leave no doubt. In hindsight, the FDA should have required more clinical trials. But public pressure and greed forced it to approve Provenge.
I predict Dendreon will fail as a going concern. It'll be gutted for its patents at around $4/share.
if you have no faith in the CEO, take your money an shrot the stock or simply leave. your whining solves nothing. any serious investor expects management to do the job, not react to daily price swings and hedgefund disinformation tactics. i have faith in CEO Johnson even if you don't and I'm willing to give him a chance to prove he can make Dendreon a financial success. if you can't act like an intelligent investor.... GEEEESH! Get out and side on the sidelines. You're ridiculous!
another basher trick attempt to form negative bias while reducing the price perhaps a few lemmings will follow you off the cliff. There can't be anyone selling at these prices. Wouldn't bother me if price declines I could use another buying opp below $10.00.
