Yeah, I missed out on what could have been a good deal in Punaluu, Oahu. Saw this small cottage home listed and contemplated getting funds to make an offer. Before I knew it, it was already gone. Too few homes up for sale in Hawaii unlike here on "the mainland". Oh well, guess it wasn't meant to be. Can't wait until I retire "back home". With nearly 30 years and a decent retirement set up, it's time I return. At least I see family once or twice a year, same with old friends.
Buy on oahu soon - house prices are almost at a bottom...hawaii kai should be good - bring cash and negotiate like mad!!!! They will drop the prices even more!!! Love it - desperation at kai...don't buy a cheapie on ewa beach - no need!!!
NOTE that was not sent by Igurumo. It was sent by Iguramo, an impostor.
To me, a long in pretty much everything, HE has merely tracked the market down, and back up. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, for the market to react to Obama/Pelosi/Reid free spenders.
Watch the big US Treasury sale this week, it is going to be very interesting I'll bet.
But HE has amply rewarded those that took a chance at 13.
$20 may come next week, but where to after that?
HE been on a roll since hitting bottom at 12, but still far off 52-week high of 29.
One can only speculate why HE spiked down from 21 and why the steady rise since 12. Recession, bank issues. Negative earnings have been discounted...now only if HE can deliver with a rate increase.
The 6.5% dividend ain't bad when compared to what you get at your bank (< 1/2%).
An electrical utility stock price movement usually does not move up or down 2%+ each day. Don't expect this to continue for long.
Good luck to all!
