Wrong on HE? I don't consider anything changed with the stock. Still poorly run with a bad business model. I did turn negative on the stock when they continued to pay out more in dividends than they were earning. Just because the stock has doubled from a very low bear market level does not change anything. A number of other stocks have done the same. Would I invest in HE today? No, I would not for the same reasons I have stated at various times in the past.
Igu - I think HB was just looking for some insight into how you were wrong with Hawaiian Electric; if you recall your posts became ultra negative on HE, and basically the stock has doubled since that time. It could be helpful to others on this board to make some money, albeit as a contrary indicator. nW
$.31 per share is JUST enough to pay the $.31/share dividend. First time in a few quarters they do not have to borrow money or issue additional stock just to pay the dividend. You can say this quarter is a slight improvement.
