How did you guys learn about incy?
I learned about it in early 2009 when stock was trading around $3 when baker bros were buying large stakes in incy. Unfortunately, I didnt increase my position when they later bought when it was 6.50 last sep. To make matters worse, I sold half my position when incy reached 10. I am nervous about buying shares now.
So I wanted to know what other stocks do you own or plan to own that has similar prospects as incy?
incyte is probably my best performing stock that I own but dont really own enough to make a dent in my tiny portfolio. Incyte doesnt seem to be the under the radar biotech as it use to be so I am trying to look for another promising, under the radar, with insider buying biotech. Some have already mentioned ghdx, chttp, auxl....however, none of them seem like compelling buys.
So now I am just pretty much waiting til I see some large insider buying shows up again in biotech.
With incyte, I got lucky....the economy was horrible and large insider buying helped incyte become undervalued at tht time.
i got in under $4 a couple yrs ago. It went past $10 and i did not sell! we had big recession and it went to $1 and change and now here i am rocking and rolling past $14. I bought when i did because insiders were buying like crazy and i could never find an insider sale!
I got INCY from a technical news article a long time ago. I got some other goodies from a smart broker who saw the kind of story I liked and kept an eye open.
Interesting prospect: MYRX. Spun out of MYGN with too much value in cash, so they're trying to turn it into income production in a way that'll help their business long-term (by buying JAV). The interesting part is a cancer drug candidate that concentrates in brain (most drugs are excluded from brain); going into late trials against melanoma and glioblastoma. As with INCY's JAK drugs, the potential off-label market dwarfs the on-label one.
This is a little known stock. The Baker Bros are invested in this company. They have an FDA decision next month or the month after that. I don't have the calendar pulled up, but it is coming up soon. It should rise nicely. It has very small float.
Agree with you on PGTH, not something I would be interested in. ARQL looks interesting at 3 something, but I would be careful to invest in it after doubling to nearly 6. Also, I like biotechs that have a major drug in phase 3 trials, and they haave only reached phase 2 studies as far as I can tell.
I hear about it in late June when it was about 3.5 from an article by an analyst who said they had a great pipeline. After taking some money off the table with HGSI at $15, I put 2k shares in INCY, and have been there ever since. It has performeed better than HGSI since, but I still have plenty of HGSI at $30.
