News from the wife of an imetelstat clinical trial patient just posted
I more patient free of MF, due to imetelsts
"Thanks. And, here is what I know that I can share. Add one more confirmed MF CR to ASH data! DH lucky man. All side effects resolved and normal blood counts/marrow for more than 3 months now. Feels great - went from very sick man who could hardly get out of bed to PR in 3 months and CR in 7 months. Miracle - and Dr. Tefferi is the miracle-maker and is working very hard to get this medicine to others ASAP. Plus he takes extra good personal care of his patients. All his trials going well and patients doing well, I understand. After firm CR established for a year (4 months to go), dosing interval can go to 6 weeks (case by case), and eventually maybe longer. My impression, however, at this stage is that Imelestat could be insulin of blood cancer. Maintenance may always be needed but that is unknown at this point and goal, of course, is no medicine - I think that would distinguish cure from complete remission. Cites/cities for larger trial identified and should be operational May 2014 at latest. DH has his ticket to ride. There does not seem any concern about future funds/funding. I imagine the any amendments needed to investigator sponsored trial could be almost finished and that there could be news around January 9th at latest I think"
Nothing is confirmed based on what a poster on a Yahoo message board says! The only way and only time this is CONFIRMED is if and when the study investigator AND the COMPANY say so in writing or on a public CC. Anybody who says.otherwise is just saying....For whatever it is worth on these boards! We were NOT born yesterday! BUT all the best to all the patients and Good Luck!
