    $46,549,000- Customer Acquisition Cost

Heartland Payment Systems has $46,549,000 of "Capitalized Acquisition Costs" on their balance sheet for the period ending March 31, 2006.

Does anyone know if the salaries and bonus expenses Heartland pays to it's sales employees is "expensed" at the time of payment to it's employees "or" does Heartland "capitalize" those employee commission payments over time as an acquisition cost as if these accounts were actually purchased?

If employee sales commission payments are capitalized... can anyone comment as to whether this is a legal accounting practice?
