Central command website for oil spill response

If you want to stay abreast of the latest information on the oil spill response, you should bookmark the following webpage...

I think things are starting to look really positive!

We should hear by Monday that the cofferdam is working as expected and that 85%+ of the oil is now being captured. Then it won't be to much longer afterwards that we read articles about how a natural disaster was diverted due to the huge response.

Back slapping and political photos ops are sure to follow, and you'll know it's all over once BP starts airing their "We responded, and you should love us tv commercials"

I think life will return to normal for the GOM E&P companies faster than we think.

Looking forward to trading come Monday.

    • Robert,
Terrific post - I like the site.

I agree with you. This could be a good containment fix. The second well to intercept and close the first well will be the final fix, but if this containment can work until then...

While they are drilling the controlled burns, chemicals and skimmers can work thier magic and hopefully improve things.

I hope the Europeans have equivalent success with the Greek debt problem. Then we'll be back up to the right PPS in a week or so...

I hope you're right but I've yet to see anyone, including BP, say that this is 'expected' to work. Every account I've read has it as highly experimental and successful in 300 - 400 feet. I'm hoping for the best but there may be a long slog ahead of us yet.

      Btw, go Habs!
