Jirgs, do you remember the argument that I made about the cost per degree of coverage for the directional LRAD? Remember that I said that it costs too much and that the competition was less per degree of coverage? Now the push is for a 360 degree coverage and that goes against the hump at the time of being highly directional. Now White doesn't look so crazy anymore, imagine that...lol
Really, the point of directional vs. Omni-directional sound has more to do with the needs of the customer. Granted that Omni directional is cheaper per degree when comparing but if you don't want everyone in your immediate area to stop or be shot, then directional has merit. Two different markets. LRADs sin was not recognizing the merits of clarity with their technology and getting the 360 on the market sooner, despite their lackluster sales aside from that one very large order to India.
