Have any of you investor types actually ordered anything from Onvia? Put your money where your mouth is! I have ordered from Onvia on about 5 occasions and of those 5 I have had to cancel my order 3 times because they are usually out of stock on items their web site claims to be in stock. The lead times on some of their merchandise are prohibitively long as well. Now I don't know about you but any company that is trying to pass itself off as a B2B deal is not going to have many repeat customers if they can't deliver the goods. They will not have any more of my business and I order a good deal from many suppliers.
Also since I am on my pulpit. Try checking your order status of existing or back orders. You will discover that the status is never updated in many cases. Onvia support claims that unless their suppliers send them the updates the order status will not be updated. What kind of business model is that?
I suggest you do your own DD and you will discover the ugly truth behind the marketing glitz.
Actually, I had a great time when I ordered something from Onvia. A friend of mine in Calgary tipped me off on Onvia's great service. His wife started a home based business, and they've been ordering everything from Onvia. So far, they've had great success getting everything they've needed.
Myself, I've only ordered one thing so far...a printer. I ordered it on a Sunday night, and it arrived Thursday morning. After that experience, I did some research into the company and bought a thousand shares ($9). I'm QUITE pleased that I did, regardless of what various people have been spouting.
