    200 drybulkers delivered so far

The pace of deliveries is amazing. Easily surpass 2011, but there will be delays pushing into 2013. So looking for about 1300 this year which will lead to an orderbook for 2013 in excess of 1000 drybulkers once again. Countries that support shipbuilding are stepping in with financing. China and Korea ExIm Banks.

    • And this guy claims to be an authority ? Nobody in the biz talks 'ships'. The fleet is always expressed in (m)Dwt !

1300 ships is an extreme exaggeration as there is no way that number will ever be hit. Last years slippage/cancellations were still greater than 43% of the order book.

Even if 1300 was accurate so what! 10 Valemax, 10 Capesize, 10 Panamax, 10 Supramax and and 1260 sub 10k shore barges. That's why nobody talks 'ships'. Doesn't mean anything.
