Why would the Greek government care. The "Greek" shipping companies have a few employees in Greece. They operate everywhere but Greece. They are incorporated in the Marshal Islands and pay European and US taxes. Greece threatened to require some of these companies to pay taxes to Greece and they responded that they will move their headquarters outside of Greece immediately if that happens. These companies do not even have Greek loans and would carry no Greek currency if Greece is booted from the EU.
You ever hear of TBSI, GMR or KLC? The shippers that have had reverse splits are numerous and the shareholder value that has been wiped out throughout this sector is huge while the entire rest of the world "rebounded". Overlay charts of almost every shipper and see the carnage. They haven't rebounded because there is a huge glut of supply. You guys new to this sector don't even seem to understand the industry in the least little bit.
