Main For IRA
Was thinking of buying some MAIN and stashing it away in my IRA. Are there any tax implications with putting it there? Is this treated like an MLP. Any thoughts appreciated Thanks

No, its treated as a REIT...my Advisory Inv-letter recommended at $20.68 in Jan 2012...I'm a happy camper...also OHI.

I've had this one and a couple more BDC's in my ROTH for about 3 years, as far as I know there's no special issues, as there are with REITS and MLP's. I'd suggest doing your own research, though. Can't understand why anyone would own much in the way of bonds nowadays, with these paying so much more and so much more likely to appreciate in value. There's a couple of websites dedicated to BDC's so check them out.

I called the company and got the answer straight from them. Your're right there are no issues in an IRA type account. Thanks for the info.
