I bought VPU last November for the dividend. Now this amazing run. Steven Sears wrote a piece this week in Barron's about longs protecting their VPU positions because they intend to stay long, suggested selling puts if you want to buy more VPU cheaper. Apparently smart money is moving into utilities as much as average investors like me simply looking for yield. While the cap gain makes it tempting to sell, I'm inclined to hold, and if VPU does pull back, buy more. Maybe even take Steve's advice and sell puts.
