I think there is a lot of confusion or misunderstanding about these BDC's. BDC's regularly have stock offerings, and it should not have an effect on share price. It is not the same animal as a normal company where an offering results in dilution of share value and a fall in share price. With a BDC, the proceeds go directly to new loans, which are assets on the books, so there is no dilutive effect. The drop today was because people are clueless, and this is a great buying opportunity. No doubt there will be even more insider buying.
Any time you see a lot of insider buying, do what they do. Same goes for insider selling.
I thought the very same thing. My theory is this: I believe if they announce dividends on a quarterly basis, then we are due for an announcement after this next dividend. So 1st or 2nd week of July I am guessing they'll announce dividends for the next qtr, and my theory is they'll increase the divvy.
Again, just a theory, but it would explain why mgmt is loading up.
