    Harris conversion progress

    I wish the company would issue a statement on the progress of converting the HarrisDirect customers over to ET's platform. I don't believe most of the HD posters on this board, but if even some of the posters are truthful about their problems, ET should assure them that some kinks should be expected, the company is aware of them and the problems will be resolved shortly.

    • Please -let me know how to complain the the SEC regarding E-Trade - I was happy with Harris Direct - and I can't believe how ETarde screwed up!!!! My accounts don't balance.

      HELP!!! I need to complain.

    • Right now I'm on hold for customer service, and have been for 40 minutes.

      CORRECTION: the system just disconnected me.

      Today, the trading platform is NOT allowing me to place trades despite having ample assets. On another day my account balances were in total disarray.

      This is not the stuff that engenders confidence for former Harris customers, and 1 more strike and I'm gone.

    • It took me 2 hours of holding and 30min with a rep to finally get my express transfer working. this enables you to get money out of your account like writing a virtual check. this morning i check the destination account, and the money is still not there. so now I'm trying to WIRE money out, and once again I hit a roadblock where I have to call customer service. So now I'm on hold thus far 90 minutes with no joy. Keep in mind that HarrisDirect customers have had their money LOCKED UP during the transfer for nearly 2 weeks now, so if you are like me and need money out of your trading account, you are FUCKED because they did'nt issue ANY checks or debit cards against your account like other online brokerages do.

        they have a new gimmick now... after
        an hour they simply hang up on you.

        anyway, my destination bank finally
        acknowledged payment at 9:00am EST
        so at least my crisis has abated.

        I'll give E*Trade a Month not to piss
        me off anymore; besides, they gave me
        5 free trades, so what the hell...

    • Time = 7:59 - waited 47 minutes - Need to do something else. Will submit inquiry to SEC and NASD.

    • I completely agree with you. Not that giving a status may be equivalent to admitting fault - Something they may not want to do.

      If you do not believe the issues regarding customer service - try calling them. I tried 3 times over the past week and got either a busy signal, or gave up after waiting 30 minutes.

    • you don't believe us? Why would I waste my time lying about it. ETrade HAS told me, via my NoTrade page, that my Placer Dome shares "should be in my account shortly."
      Does that sound like a lie? Over nine thousand dollars worth of shares have not transferred yet. I know; a pittance to some of you high rollers.
      I pity the NoTraders who have hundreds or thousands of dollars in their cash accounts missing. I am not one of them.
