    ETrade vs AMTD or SCHW

I have a short note here in response to David Hafner's blog.

Last January I moved my Ameritrade izone account to ETrade, and I day-trade with ETrade-pro. I had to pay only $1 more per trade, but got 100 free trades. The real benefit comes from its digital security device. I feel secure knowing that no hacker can break into my account even though I leave the ETrade pro on all day. Besides, we have a dedicated Platinum team which answers and solves any problem we might have. My son has a Schwab account and pays more than twice per trade, but that's OK because he does not trade much...he is an investor, very loyal to Schw, but does not bring much income to Charles.

Who tried to offer 'free' trades? Oh, yes, it was Bank of America, which wants to unload this very business now, but nobody wants to buy it. The brokerage which will really get hurt from $0 trade offering would be Schwab, not ETrade. I love ETrade.
