EGRP vs AMTD and the others .. in their

EGRP (E*TRADE)is a online brokerage in relation to what DELL is to the BOXMAKER INDUSTRY.
Care to compare CPQ TO DELL
That should answer AMTD to EGRP.
EGRP and it's CEO MR CHRIS COSTAKOS are one of the darling's of WALL STREET. So watch out...on what you all are missing out on...

GROWING INTO THE INDUSTRY STANDARD.. no turning back..

    • Looks like we are bearing a tough market on Financial sectors. I think E*trade is at the bottom of low and will going no where but up. Basicly, if you follow the financial sector in last several weeks, you know that E*trade is "guity with association". But E*trade does not have anything to do with the "asian flu" that affects other financial firms. The over sell just another precusor of upward.
Second factor that may free E*trade is asset increase in the first quarter. Typicly people gets bonus in this peorid and IRA contribution is occuring in this time. SO you will see a supprising activity on this stock.
Look for a potential of $30~35/shr in half year.

      • Ameratrade is bleeding hard due to it's compaign to win on-line investors over. Yet, the result is not sufficient impressive for them to continue the lower trade fee. I bet they will have to review their process and boast the trading fee to a profit level soon.
Projecting a slow down in competition with possible consolidation.

    • New numbers soon sorry.
      I need my coffee

    • Some thoughts:
      Name 10/13/97
      E-Trade 21 1/16 to 26
      Ameritrade 22 5/8 to 24 1/4

It appears that E-trade has already broken into it's October trading range while Ameritrade or Franklin (BEN 82-84) has not.
      One side:
      Ameritrade has already collapsed.
      The other:
      No options
Earning hopefuls still holding the stock.
I think the key question is when will we stop selling and are we foing down more.
I need to do my homework today.
MY FOCUS WILL BE WILL WE TEST OR BREAK THE OCTOBER LOWS.
I am thinking about a stop loss under my AMeritrade position (I still need to research this today). If it breaks 23.5 I wonder if it will go to 22.5.
PLEASE REPLY AS ALWAYS I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK IN YOUR TRADING EVEN THOUGH I MAY SEEM SHARP AT TIMES REMEMBER WE ARE IN IT FOR THE LOOT NOT JUST THE EXCITEMENT. SO BE WINNERS I CAN ASSURE YOU IT IS MORE FUN.

    • MrMullah,

I agree with you and commend you on your cogent and logical argumentation. I did a little test on connecting to the web page of all the prominent online brokers. E*TRADE has the fastest connection hands down. E*TRADE is in for the long profitible haul, while the imitators such as AMTD are setting themselves up as a buyout target. The E*TRADE train is rolling. All aboard!

      • if you check out the SI thread everyone complains all the time about EGRP

      • I Commend you for your for your post too! I have been reading your advice for fellow investor's both on this thread and the AMTD thread and I hope that they do listen to you. You and I and others who are long will reap the rewards for Investing in E*TRADE (EGRP).
I DO not get the opportunity to post as often as I would like because my primary occupation is still a day job but I will be able to do so in the very near future. THANKS to stocks like EGRP amongst my few investments and people of vision like you..
I will do my part and post positve research when I come across.
The ASIAN downtrend will all but come to a halt and people will base investments on FUNDEMENTALS..

..CNBC had a Year end outlook speech by PHILLIPENE president MR. RAMOS and he basically discarded all this negitivism about the ASIAN MARKETS in relation to his country. The Phillipines being the 5th largest economy in ASIA. KOREA is reacting well to and FINALLY CHINA will counter all this craziness in the coming weeks..So off we should go again..

GOOD LUCK and may all AMTD & other online brokerage investors know they have been forwarned about a missed opportunity..
