Remember Cramer or someone from the Street.com made a comment a while back indicating that the reason he was not high on Fuel Cell and hybreds is because as long as the Republicans are in control of the Whitehouse, they will not $$ support this technology. Bush is looking to help his Oil buddies anyway he can. An example is by the scumbag Republican House Member make a turse comment on Fule Cell technology reently and heard on CNN. The republican's are nothing but elitist pricks who favor the big boys at Hiliburten, Exon, etc.
If the democrats get in in 2008, look for Fuel Cell and Stem Cell stocks to soar. You would want to be ion GERN and QTWW at that time or just before the 2008 election.
You are correct. I know I'm going to irritate a lot of people by talking politics, but - let's face it - everything Bush and the republicans have done is to help those who are already doing pretty well. As for the poor - I suppose he thinks they can fend for themselves. And they call themselves Christrians, give me a break.
The percentage of this budget allocated to alternative energy is the absolute minimum necessary to equip neocons with an argument that it supports AE -and that was done on purpose. It is an embarrasment in real terms; a shameless rejection of alternatives in favor of the old oil buddies.
I believe that we have to spend budget to improve refining capacity and utilization of low grade local sources like the Canadian oil sands in the short term; but this cannot be at the expense of an objective future where fossile fuels are the exception not the rule. We're missing a big opportunity here if the lion's share of this budget does not go for alternative energy.
I usually don't agree with Cramer and his buddies, but yes Bush and the republicans are only out to help the big corp's and con the public with lip service for hydrogen and alternatives. I just hope the Dems don't run some one that is or will be labeled a radical or liberal that the republicans will easily be able to label as such and con the american voters once again into voting them back in to keep us behind the world in development of new things and keep us dependent on foreign oil.
