    Satellite Companies to Sustain Internet?

Does anyone see IRDM (or other satellite companies) as an attractive long-term investment that will benefit from the quickly diminishing internet bandwidth supply?
An inevitable glut that will eventually slow or paralyze the net has been talked about for several years but with the advent and exploding popularity of smartphones, I recently learned that several giant-money hedge fund types have begun to buy the satellite space believing that cable and telecos will soon (perhaps within a year) be forced to pursue additional bandwidth by leasing it from the IRDMs of the world.
Some people think that the need for additional bandwidth is why AT&T bought T-Mobile.
    Any thoughts on the notion?
