    Rentrak Adds Bresnan Communications Sys

    - Trial Includes Transfer of Bresnan VOD Transaction Information from C-COR's nABLE On Demand Management Platform -

PORTLAND, Ore., July 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Rentrak Corporation (Nasdaq: RENT - News) today announced that Bresnan Communications has signed an agreement to begin using OnDemand Essentials(TM), a proprietary system created by Rentrak to measure and report aggregated video on demand (VOD) usage data.

Bresnan Communications will feed their anonymous, encoded VOD transaction data via the nABLE On Demand Management Platform provided by C-COR (Nasdaq: CCBL - News), a global provider of interoperable business solutions that simplifies the transition to IP demand-oriented networks. Rentrak will in turn allow Bresnan to access timely and actionable reporting information supplied by Rentrak's OnDemand Essentials.

"Now that almost half of Bresnan Communications' subscribers have access to video on demand content, it is an increasingly important content distribution channel for us and therefore extremely important to have the ability to precisely measure transactions," said Jim Gemmill, Bresnan Communication's vice president of operations. "Rentrak will enable us to more accurately monitor and analyze on demand viewing preferences so that we can further enhance our video on demand offerings to our customers."

Rentrak's engagement with Bresnan Communications will begin with a one-year trial of OnDemand Essentials during which technical data feed protocols, reporting formats, staff training and other ramp-up activities will be conducted. The trial period allows Rentrak to customize OnDemand Essentials' capabilities to Bresnan Communications and its content suppliers and ensure smooth operations once aggregated data begins to be accumulated anonymously from Bresnan's digital cable customers.

Cathy Hetzel, senior vice president, OnDemand Essentials at Rentrak commented, "Our engagement with Bresnan Communications is significant because it represents the first time the Rentrak system has incorporated measurement of on demand content usage derived from C-COR's nABLE On Demand Management Platform."

Bresnan's Video on Demand product offers an expansive library of over 1,200 hours per month of movies, premium channel hits, sports, music and other programs that begin immediately after selecting a program using the remote control. Bresnan Digital Cable customers have access to an array of free programming, including content from Kids Unlimited, NFL Network and DIY, and HBO and Showtime if they subscribe to those services.

Bresnan Communications' seven Mountain State systems join other leading MSOs that Rentrak currently has VOD data collection deals in place with including Cablevision, Charter, Comcast and Insight Communications.
