Merck & Co. (NYSE:MRK) is among a number of drug firms which “would love to get their hands” on Amarin Corporation (NASDAQ:AMRN) for Vascepa, AstraZeneca (NYSE:AZN) could be readying a cash bid for the company as well. Other big pharma companies, such as Eli Lilly and Company (NYSE:LLY), Abbott Laboratories (NYSE:ABT) and Pfizer could get into the action.-
haven't read the article but amrn has like 10MM in sales and is valued at 1.9B. they'll have 165MM in sales (something like that) projected next year. Geez, VRTX has 1.5B in sales. why doesn't someone come in and take VRTX out at $65-70 is beyond me????

I'll have to look at amrn but what about buying VRTX? is that insane? am I wrong or is it too high and too early??? thoughts longs? thanks

it will be a tough 18-24 months for vrtx but excellent long term prospects (CF alone should be 4-6b in rev). they are sitting on a pile of cash also. if you're looking for a short term bump i think it will be volatile but long term trend brings it to 70-80 (2-3 years)
