Trying To Give DuPont a Monsanto Makeover. Won't Work!

Readers, One telling sign of Monsanto's superlative success in the 21st century: Imitation.
Belatedly, Ellen J. Kullman, "Chair" & CEO of the DuPont Company is grappling with her unwieldy Delaware-based conglomerate, trying rather futilely to be the next Monsanto. To this end, Ms. Kullman has ditched $5 billion-a-year in auto paints, along with glass products. Next year, 2015, she is jettisoning her chemicals, including Teflon, TIO2, refrigerants, acids, undsoweiter to look more like agricultural powerhouse, Monsanto.
Trouble for Ms. Kullman is the gap between Monsanto and DuPont continues to widen. Monsanto is the undisputed world-leader in the production and sale of seeds, and seed biotechnology. Monsanto also leads the much shrunken and shrinking DuPont in sales of ag chemicals/crop protection, as does Syngenta, Bayer, BASF, and Dow Chemical.
In the meantime, DuPont Management is compelled every year to shell out hundreds of $millions in license fees to Monsanto in order to put Monsanto's superior genetically-modified traits into DuPont Pioneer's otherwise conventional seeds.
It will be a long, long time before Monsanto is dethroned as the outstanding global powerhouse in agriculture by any competitor, particularly the lumbering and bureaucratic DuPont conglomerate.

Folks, the more resentfully uneducated hecklers cheer Ms. Kullman and protest any contrary opinion by launching childish personal attacks, the more you know this lagging Delaware conglomerate is way behind its world-leading competitors, Monsanto, Syngenta, Novozymes, BASF and Dow Chemical. ...funfun..
