Volume Services America Holdings (CVS-US) - US$13.84 On October 14, Volume Services announced that its unitholders voted to change the company name to Centerplate (its current trade name). In addition to electing three new board members and eliminating the classified system of electing directors whereby each director's term was for 3 years and each year, about one third of the board would be up for re-election. Instead, board member terms will remain for one year with the current board members up for re-election starting in 2005. The three new board members are Sue Ling Gin (Chairman and CEO of Flying Food Fare, Inc., a Chicago-based in-flight catering company that serves 80 international airlines); Alfred Poe (lead investor in AJA Restaurant Group, an operator of franchise restaurants in Florida and Ohio); and Glenn R. Zander (Vice Chairman and former President and CEO of Aloha Airgroup, Inc., a Hawaii-based airline service company). As well, Volume Services indicated that discussions with the SEC regarding the accounting treatment of certain features of its units will require certain items from its financial statements to be restated in amended quarterly filings which are to be released shortly. These discussions had been previously disclosed by Volume Services in its quarterly financial statement filings and corresponding press releases.
