    Motley fool

Once we've identified a completely dominant company, we analyze the risks to that company. After all, even dominant companies have risk factors that can potentially slow their growth. At one time, Glenayre Technologies (Nasdaq: GEMS) had a leading position in the paging market and seemingly unlimited potential to profit from new technologies. But the company was unable to adapt when wireless phones became popular, and Glenayre has been struggling to redefine its niche ever since. And such displacement doesn't just happen to technology companies.

    • And that is just what has happened.

Glenayre has enjoyed a speculative run-up, IMO triggered by Morgan Joseph coverage but also in part to rumors that they might divest themselves of messaging.

At one time, Glenayre had _market_power_ within its niche. It doesn't have that now (in messaging anyway).

I fail to see the inaccuracies you are huffing and puffing about. Sounds dead right to me.
