    Shuffle Going Forward

should do well, since it has negative book value at present(like AGI a few years ago).

    • While AGI and SHFL have about the same market cap, AGI has more than triple SHFL's TTM EBITDA.

    • I enjoy sitting in my paid for American West-Inverness home in Southern Highlands thanks to the LVR & bobshfl. The LVR suggested buying Alliance and bobshfl bashed it so I (apologies to iveystone) backed up the truck and less than two years later I bought a 5200 sq. ft home.

    • And in 1996 there was 38 million shares. They seem to be buying back 1 million a year, that leaves a lot of room for growth. But, the thing about poker, it seems most games are hand dealt. Yes, there are one or two that use shufflers in poker, chumash casino for 1, but I don't know how well shufflers will work with poker. Shuffling one deck is not a hard chore. It only takes a few seconds, and with $1 tip per hand, no dealer is going to give up their $40 per hour job because they don't like to shuffle.

Also, it would be easy to stack a deck with a table shuffler so many patrons might grow suspicious of them if they don't see the cards shuffling.

If poker takes away from blackjack players, it may be a net negative. Blackjack will always use shufflers because shuffling 6 decks is a chore.

    • Friend, you have everything in reverse. The deckmate doesn't have the ability to shfl up a cooler. A hand dealt and shfled deck, can be set. Dealers LOVE the deckmate,it gets out an extra 4-7 hands an hour which means an extra 5-7 bucks an hour in tips for the dealer. It gives the dealers hands a break as well ,and the deckmate can shfl the cards, you still need a dealer to pitch them,no?
BTW,ever see a magician, seeing the shfl doesn't mean it really happened! Years ago shit went down in the old poker rooms that would make your head spin.

    • Brigam,

At the Bicycle Club I saw 73 Deck Mate shufflers. At other properties I probably saw another 30+ Deck Mate shufflers.

These things (new generation shufflers) aren't like the latest fashions out of Paris. They don't go on the shelf in August to be sold out in September.

There's a certain naivite to some of the questions asked here that border on the absurd (and that's putting it kindly). The Deck Mate shuffler likely exceeds SHFL's ACE shuffler in terms of its success, and ACE was a blockbuster. You really have to wonder what these posters are thinking.

      Go SHFL!

      Bob, they aren't thinking.

    • >>Bob, they aren't thinking.<<

      Bobssssss,

I was giving themsssss the benefit of the doubt. Your point is well taken. Silly me.

      Bobsssssssssss

      Go SHFL!

    • I have just started playing poker and never played at the bike except the nooner tornament that uses hand shuffling so here is my list.

      lco wisconsin- hand
      commerce - hand
      hollywood park - hand
      hustler - hand
      diamond jims rosemond - hand
      pechanga tourney - hand
      morongo (old) - hand
      San Manuel - hand
Chumash - electronic shuffler, one table had a broken shuffler btw

I don't know whether this is good or bad news since there would be great growth potential if a poker shuffler could be made.

    • billberggren,

If you were in a tourney at Chumash and they were hand dealing, it was not because of a "broken" shuffler. All the tables in the poker room are equipped with shufflers but table #3 has no power. As a result, when the tourneys use all the tables, #3 is the first to break and all tables can then use their shufflers. This is to avoid the disadvantage to the players seated at a table without a shuffler.

And on another note, your statement quoted above has me baffled.

The DeckMate was specifically designed for poker tables.

Repeatedly over the years, Dr. Yoseloff has stated that SHFLs path to growth in the shuffler business is not replacing other shuffler manufacturers boxes but rather it is to place boxes on tables that are currently hand shuffled. That is truer in the poker room business than the table pits because the percentage of poker room tables without a shuffler is greater than in the casinos card pit.
