WorldCom wins Pentagon order for network services April 04, 2002 6:27:00 PM ET
WASHINGTON, April 4 (Reuters) - MCI WorldCom Communications Inc., a unit of WorldCom Inc. (WCOM), Thursday won a contract to provide state-of-the-art, wide-area network services for Defense Department computers, a deal that could be worth as much as $450 million to WorldCom over the next 10 years.
The Defense Information Systems Agency said the contract had a minimum guaranteed level of $6 million, but it estimated $70 million in orders would be issued during the next three years. In addition, it said the contract had a $450 million ceiling price over the next 10 years.
Under the contract, MCI WorldCom will provide network services to support a Pentagon program to modernize its high performance computers and its users. REUTERS
