Is WCOM Going Under 1$/Share This Week

Sinking fast. Looking more and more like delisting and then bankrupcy. Just couldn't compete with AT&T. Shouldn't have started that price war.

Actually, I believe that WCOM has multiple
networks as they were never able to integrate
MCIs Data network with the WorldCom network.

UUNet is still distinct from the others as well
I believe. THis is one of the reasons that
WCOM was never able to leverage the combined
      companies.

      Thats' true.

    • Ever heard the saying, "He who dies with the deepest pockets loses too"? Deep pockets (AT&T) are OK, except when you have no money left in them- then there called empty pockets. Look for short interest in T to increase around the time of T's 5 for 1 reverse split. Some call reverse splits a prolonged death spiral, I would agree.

Yet they have been able to generate about the same dollar value of revenue as T and at a better margin. T's been living off their old...repeat "old"...hype they actually believe it now. Get a clue guys...look at the quarterly reports. The numbers have been saying you're a loser.

    • Any of the three companies I mentioned has a newer, cheaper network? Why pay top dollar for an old network?

    • Doesn't Genuity have a network? And isn't it going to eventually be reabsorbed into Verizon? Wouldn't that take at least Verizon out of the picture as far as acquiring a network is concerned?

    • >>>Who wants WCOM's network along with all that debt. If I were an RBOC I'd go after WCG or LVLT or GX.

WCOM will go Chap 11 within the next 18 months...about the time RBOCs get LD authority. They will get WCOM's network for pennies...in stock not cash.

    • "They both have the same problems and the outcome for shareholders of both will be the same...zero return."

WCOM and T both have the same troubles? What are you, an IDIOT. Both S&P and Moody's haved rated WCOM bonds JUNK GRADE. NOT SO FOR AT&T. Who wants WCOM's network along with all that debt. No one seems to be knocking down their door. If I were an RBOC I'd go after WCG or LVLT or GX. You make all these irrational statements without a schred of proof. Try logical arguments for a change. On the other hand, don't. I seriously doubt you're capable of it.

    • >>>Just couldn't compete with AT&T. Shouldn't have started that price war.

Oh pulleeze...T as a competitive juggenaut just don't fly. WCOM's problems aren't because T is competing better. T is still just selling POTS...and its getting its butt kicked in everything else. Try getting bids for business service...data and voice...the salespeople are morons. T offers the best price for voice but for data they're not even close. Their sales pitch is based solely on price. Good for customers...not so good for shareholders.
