T is already for a strike,,,union workers better prepair, T stuck to ther guns on Management paying for there benefits and freezing there salary this year...this will be there bargaining to the union...T is ready to hire!!! Union better not get to place were they think there not replaceable and nobody can do there job...not so fast!!! T has plans
If ATT has trained managers to do Union jobs ...Why are so many management folks clueless to what is going on within their own departments...EX: since they have shut down repair, dispatch, PRI,PROJECT GROUP, MLAC, TNAC, RCMAC..ETC and sent work to other states that can't read other states records nor have full access to certain systems..why are there so many orders are out in error, can't get assigned, dispatched..etc the company is on a virtual merry go round with internal issues...I WANT TO GO ON STRIKE! Let the managers try and figure out why TX can't type CT orders or OH can't see CA records or IL does not understand WI way of doing things..
CWA animosity toward AT&T and specifically AT&T management not withstanding a strike at this point in time would yield no winners. Pay lost during a strike is never recovered and the money earned by management during a strike doesn't compensate them for the 12 hour tours. Lets all hope that there is no strike for all concerned.
April 4th 2009 is simply the date the existing contract expires! It is not and never has been a definite strike date. AT&T WOULD maybe like that but I believe the CWA has enough sense to know there is no need to strike immediately when the COMPANY is most prepared for it. I am sure we will work under the existing contract terms for a while and let "T" enjoy paying for all the preparation's they have made, since they where not willing to negotiating in good faith!
I understand that they're serious. It's because they are so uncreative that the only way they can see to raise a profit is by theft. Theft of quality from the customer, theft of tax-paying jobs from America, theft of benefits from all levels of employment (save the boys at the tippy-top), and theft of this company's long-term future. When they dump the jets, dump the limo's, downsize the headquarters, dump the skybox(es), cut the salary, bonuses and hidden stock payouts to the board and to all executives- then and ONLY then will I believe they need sacrifice from the rank and file. First, let's END this ridiculous, 1800's style good-ol-boys club, bring in some real professionals, and restructure from the top down- because THAT's where the problem is- unimagineative, greedy, inflexible Texas arrogance.
So what if they came in, shot up the industry and took over a large segment of it- good job, but the Mongols did the same and more- they didn't last, and these cowboys can't either. It isn't sustainable because you run out of external targets, turn inwards and attack your own when there's nothing else to raid. It's started, it's stupid, and we should replace this self-congratulation club before they break something important.
