I am in D4 Ohio.If this thing passes many people will:
2.Become a dues objectioner
3.Cancel all ATT services
Not in that order. It will be everyman for himself. It will be the beginning of the end of Group 1 wages and bennies.Start looking for another job cause you WILL NOT MAKE 30yrs.Goddamn a-holes
It's a terrible piece of negotiating. I believe a fourth grader could have done a better job. However, where there's a large number of female employees, you have this problem. Females tend to scare easily and put themselves on "sale" because they don't think they're worth more. Men don't do that.
If you have the option of being in a better union, I don't see how anyone can fault you. That is a terrible piece of work.
I saw this happen when I worked for GTE.
The dispatchers and operators had husbands whose jobs provided benefits and most of the household income. They would vote yes on anything because their income and benefits really didn't affect the household bottom line.
Windy - - unfortunately I too am in District 4 Ohio and agree with your statement. A fellow female District 4 employee just said the same thing to me on the phone two minutes ago.
However, in my book, it still does not excuse the CWA from presenting us with this joke of a tentative agreement in the first place. You know, the "last, best and final offer" previously rejected by District 6 on May 14th 2009!!
Amen, brother. Larry Cohen, Seth Rosen & the rest of the CWA brass can go f@*k themselves. How can the union declare this 2 be a fair & just contract? D9 says they made a major breakthrough on their last bargaining report. I heard from the President of our local in D6 that D9's only other sticking point was the prem techs getting the drop work. That was about 2 weeks ago. Hopefully D9 can fight it off so the rest of the districts have a prayer. Is there any confirmation as to whether the D4 tentative agreement passed? If so, god help all of us I/R techs. This feels like the Titanic going down. A damn shame.
