working class VS working class drags us all down

I feel there is some kind of a defect in a certain percentage of the population's thought process. Can someone explain this to me.I am a union employee for Verizon which is a healthy, profitable company. I have a pension plan, healthcare plan and 401k plan. There are many people out there in the workforce that unfortunately do not have these things. Now I know that if you ask any worker who does not have these things if they'd like to have them, 100% of these people would say they'd love to have them --- and yet there is a percentage of these same people that are of the opinion that because they DON'T have them that you should not have them either! "I don't have a pension, why should you?" "I have to pay for my medical benefits, why shouldn't you?" These people will even defend the fact that the top 5 execs at Verizon have sucked out 260 million in compensation over the last 4 years or that the AT&T CEO cost the company 4 billion dollars and now these people are trying to take away everything they can from the workers that make the company successful. If I didn't have a pension or healthcare plan I would want to see MORE people getting them in the hope that it might become more common for companies to offer them. In my opinion these people are helping the 1% kill the middle class and don't even realize it! When their children have to get a minimum wage, no benefit job at Walmart or buy a one way ticket to India to get work then maybe they'll realize they were useful tools.

    • Divide and conquer is the conservative mantra, and it has worked since the beginning of civilization.

    • You union sheep gave us Obama who it ruining this country. you vote all democrat all the time and in return whatever democrat you elect protects you from whatever hardships and costs they place on non-union people. Your benefits are often subisdized by other peoples taxes and increased premiums to the point they can't afford any benefits for themselves. Go ask your low level manager what they pay for their families healthcare and what kind of coverage they receive. They are subsidizing your benefits with their high costs. Union sheep don't care what kind of leaders they put into public office and the harm these idiots cause the country. As long as the sheep get their cadillac benefit pay and plans they don't care if it is others who really end up paying for it. You sheep are bussed to ralleys free of charge and paid to stir up trouble. It time unions members live in the same world as the rest of us

The President has had the United States Air Force re-activate two
aircraft squadrons. Their purpose is to support President Obama's
campaign workers during the campaign season.

The 305th and 306th Expeditionary Airlift Squadrons were re-activated as subordinate units of the 89th Airlift Wing on December 1.
The Squadrons were previously used during WWII until mid1945 for carrying large numbers of combat troops. They are expected to commence operations April 2012.

The 305th will operate out of New Castle, DE, with 5 C-130H
medium lift transport aircraft, 8 full sets of aircrew, 60 assigned
maintenance personnel and 12 operations personnel.

The 306th will operate out of Andrews AFB, with 4 C-17 heavy lift
transports, 7 full aircrew, 60 maintenance personnel, and 10
        operations personnel will be assigned.

Operations for the two squadrons are to commence in April, and will
run through the election. The aircraft and personnel will be released
back to their original units after the election.

        Comments on the news article:
The president is apparently planning on transporting huge numbers of campaign supporters around the country. This is the most extravagant campaign cost ever, which is to be paid for by taxpayers. The presidents own transportation is provided
by Air Force 1, in addition to other tax payer provided assets.

Regardless of political affiliation, many are concerned that this is too extravagant a campaign cost to be paid for by taxpayers. If you also consider the cost excessive, you may wish to inform others.

This is factual. Read it yourself:

      • Ricky, there you go again spouting your class warfare! I can assure you not all union members voted for Obama and I can also assure that my benefits and pay where much better when Bush was in the white house then they are right now. I can't understand why you are always complaining about Obama, ever since he has been in office the stock market has been climbing and corporate profits are higher then they have ever been, the rich are getting much richer and everyone else is just scrambling to scrape by. Union membership is way down. Obama should be your favorite president ever!

      • I love this mans post, Rick is obviously clueless to the CWA ,, he gives them more credit than they deserve ,, the CWA is so weak they couldn't tear their way out of a brown paper bag much less organize a hand full of members to support a political campaign ,, then Rick believes this middle class group of workers is getting assistance and aid from the government or other subsidies ,, that's a joke , the middle class is known for paying more in taxes than any other working class ,, so either Rick is extremely wealthy and doesn't understand or in the lower class but unable to get government help ,, otherwise he would be supporting the middle class that finances this country ,,

    • If you are CWA from NY - you must be a scumbag.
