Obama admin knew embasy attack probable but did not protect staff

This explains why Obama is avoiding the press and major news outlets are trying to divert attention from Obama's failure by placing blame on a movie. Is this still America? The way we are being lied to is
unblievable, we are now forced to rely on foriegn sources to get information.

According to senior diplomatic sources, the US State Department had credible information 48 hours before mobs charged the consulate in Benghazi, and the embassy in Cairo, that American missions may be targeted, but no warnings were given for diplomats to go on high alert and "lockdown", under which movement is severely restricted.
Senior officials are increasingly convinced, however, that the ferocious nature of the Benghazi attack, in which rocket-propelled grenades were used, indicated it was not the result of spontaneous anger due to the video, called Innocence of Muslims. Patrick Kennedy, Under-Secretary at the State Department, said he was convinced the assault was planned due to its extensive nature and the proliferation of weapons.
There is growing belief that the attack was in revenge for the killing in a drone strike in Pakistan of Mohammed Hassan Qaed, an al-Qa'ida operative who wasfrom Libya, and timed for the anniversary of the 11 September attacks.
Senator Bill Nelson, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said: "I am asking my colleagues on the committee to immediately investigate what role al-Qa'ida or its affiliates may have played in the attack and to take appropriate action."

    • Capitol Hill lawmakers expressed frustration after their requests for more information on the Libya attack were rebuffed by the State Department.

On Wednesday Congreess renewed their demand for documents after Clinton declined to hand over the cables they initially requested. The House Intelligence Committee has not received any documents from the department either.

The Obama administration raised concerns among Congressional lawmakers that they are pushing off the review's conclusions until after the election and did not address specific allegations that diplomats had warned in advance of security concerns.

There are clear signs that security concerns in Libya and other embassies around the world, and what they were doing is diminishing security in the name of normalizing relations. Bengahzi diplomats made "repeated requests" for additional security but were denied.

The Obama administration had "about a dozen" intelligence reports within hours of the attack suggesting Al Qaeda-tied militants were involved.

Intelligence officials were picking up that it was a terror strike within 24 hours. Libya was a different situation despite the initial claims of the Obama administration.

    • Congress should hold hearings into the attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya that killed four Americans to prevent a cover-up by the Obama White House we’ve already seen the State Department scrubbing some of its information from its website. “The State Department gave a warning that said, ‘We don’t have any intelligence that anything is going to be wrong on 9/11.’ And then they removed that from the website. So we already see a scrubbing from the State Department and it’s really important for congressional committees to quickly get in and figure out what’s going on.”

    • Obama is a liar, he lies about everything. Why did he cover this attack up and is not allowing the FBI to investigate.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Thursday there can be no doubt that terrorists had planned and carried out the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi earlier this month that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Libya's President says the attack was not the aftermath of a spontaneous outburst of
street protests over an anti-Islam movie.

"I have no doubt this was a pre-planned attack with very sinister and criminal intentions," he said.

For the first time, President Mohammed Megrief said it wasn't just Libyans who were involved in the attack. Without giving details, he said foreigners participated in planning and orchestrating the assault.

    • It is possible the killers of the Libyan embassy staff may not be caught under Obama's leadership

      Excellent commentary!

    • This is almost like a Vaudeville act. This is the presidency as entertainment. It's not the presidency as leadership. It's not the presidency as commander-in-chief. And I'm not sure that entertainer-in- chief is a very comforting concept, given the level of danger we now see in the world.

Looks like I may have nailed it on the head.

    • The Obama administration is now running “apology” ads in Pakistan. The ads include both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama apologizing for an obscure YouTube video that is blocked in Pakistan.
So let’s get this straight: The State Department spent seventy grand of taxpayer money to have the Secretary of State and the President of the United States apologize for a film they “allegedly” had nothing to do with. Well it’s nice to know our money is being spent so wisely by Hussein and his administration as they continue to apologize for someone simply exercising their First Amendment rights, instead of reprimanding those who have been attacking the U.S. embassy there in Pakistan.
