Ok. First, the Fed says that they may not have enough to pay my Social Security in my Senior years, which are upon me now. I payed into this for 43 years, and thought we had an agreemenrt. I guess not ironclad.
Then they say that Medicare will be compromised because too many undeserving, non- paying folks are now attached to it. That will affect me negatively very late in the game. I would have taken better care of myself if I had known this.
Now they say that my U. S. Savings Bonds, which I have been buying for 45 years, are in danger of being defaulted upon. I thought that we had a Bond, Treasury Department. I am keeping up my end. Why would you even consider not paying me off for these Bonds? What a bunch of losers.
And finally, they say that my 401K Money Market funds, which are uninsured, could be attached ( Federal Employees are in that boat). If you need to borow some money from me, you must suck badly.
What exactly do I have left? All agreements that I made have been, or are under consideration for reneging upon.. As far as I am concerned, the U.S. Govt can kiss my butt. I don't have any respect for any entity which backs out on its committmernts, and changes the rules on somebody as old as me.
I too payed in for 45 years. My annual SSI/Medicare statement shows that in less than 8 years, everything I and my employer have put in will be used up. Medicare; a couple of weeks in the hospital and it too is all gone. Who's to blame? The people currently, and those of us about to receive benefits for not demanding over the last half century that the poiticians stop giving away more benefits without raising taxes.
Think back...which party started SS and Medicare? Which Party ruled Congress for 40 years and ignored all the calls to reform these 'entitlements'? Which Party ignored all the calls, and even actively resisted any attempts to reform the housing rules and Fannie and Freddy?
Which Party now thinks we can tax and spend our way out of the hole in which we find ourselves?
I'll bet Ricky and Echo can't remember!
My SSI benefits will be used up in about 15 years.
However, if I were allowed to have invested all mine and my employers' contributions I would have to live to be 100 years old to exhaust my savings retirement!!!!
"They", is anybody who has a part in taking the money which I (or you) loaned those buttheads at low, or no interest rates over the last 45 years. Much of this does fall on the Republican side, who I was foolish enough to think ("they") would do the right thing. "They" are the ones who are unwillng to compromise on the behalf of all of us. Fed, Dems, and GOP. 'They suck and should be removed ASAP. Obama needs to call Boehner, Reid, and McConnell into a padded room, with pencils and paper, and solve this favorably on behalf of us Americans, or they don't leave the room to even take a leak.
"It is amazing that people think we cannot afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, and medication somehow think that we can afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, medications and a government bureaucracy to administer it."
