Why have we not demanded that SSRI (Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors) be banned?

Eric Harris age 17 (first on Zoloft then Luvox) and Dylan Klebold aged 18 (Colombine school shooting in Littleton, Colorado), killed 12 students and 1 teacher, and wounded 23 others, before killing themselves. Klebold's medical records have never been made available to the public.

Kevin Rider, age 14, was withdrawing from Prozac when he died from a gunshot wound to his head. Initially it was ruled a suicide, but two years later, the investigation into his death was opened as a possible homicide. The only way Americans are going to halt this latest gun-grabber attack on the Bill of Rights is to force the issue of SSRI-caused violence into the public eye.

You (ALL of us) need to forward these articles about SSRIs and violence, and the fact that the Connecticut shooter was on these medications, to all your local media, all your family and friends, every public forum you can find, and specially to flood the offices of members of Congress (who already had hearings into this very problem).

Right now that fancy software the government bought to fake thousands of online identities is cranked up full-tilt; unless We The People match them post for post, fact for myth, the gun-grabbers will win through attrition.

    • People with mental health problems take pharmaceuticals to treat those problems, therefore when people with mental health problems do something crazy it's the pharmaceuticals that caused it, not the mental health problems. So, just stop providing mental health treatments. Also, no need to worry about access to AR-15s either, eh?.

No matter how you try to obfuscate the issue, people with guns are much more effective killers than people without guns, mental health status and drug of choice notwithstanding.

      • You like logic so lets use some.
        1. Mental problems have always existed and modern guns have been around for over a hundred years without any school shootings. The worst school murder in 1927 used dynamite. No drugs or guns.
        2. School shootings and drug use seem to have developed at the same time.
        3. Then it seems very likely that the use of drugs has something to do with the genesis of school shootings.

      • My sister took Meth for weight reduction when doctors could legally prescribe it. She ended up in the state mental institution at Patton in CA. Many other drugs have the same effects on people. I had an investment professor who was the son of a famous Marine Corp General who also was prescribed meth for his weight. It made a total change in his personality and he ended up in jail. Many of these mind altering drugs both legal and illegal cause serious problems in peoples thinking. Even relatively mild ones like pot.

      • You have nothing but twisted logic! You think you're so smart but we all think you're a DA! Except for PeePoo!

    • George W. Asleep while the US is being attached even though he was warned numerous times by the transition team. Scotch and water for 20 years will do that to you. Look at how many could have been saved if we had elected anyone else.

    • We the People want more gun control so kids, and adults, don't get guns so easily to kill people. You are not in a majority, and your groups method of yelling loud doesn't change it. What most of you look like are 10 year old school yard bullies, who never changed. Why would anyone want more liberal gun rights in America with all the shootings? Makes no sense.

      • Not all of 'we' feel the same way. I for one don't want more liberal guns laws, what I don't want is any further involvement in my life by the Federal government. Banning automatic weapons has already been done, banning semi-automatic weapons was done, and in the infinite shrewdness of our 'leaders' it was allowed to expire. One problem I have is that we can no longer trust our government to take one-step to resolve a problem, track the results of the resolution and honestly report success or failure on its own.

The 'slippery slope' as some call it is a reality in Washington D. C. and that should be more important to a lot more people. Many of our real criminals aren’t out on the street with an illegal or legal weapon; they are walking the halls of our government offices.

You're entitled to your opinion even when it is mistaken, condescending, and too naive.
