The Obama administration is secretly carrying out a domestic surveillance program under which it is collecting business communications records involving Americans under a hotly debated section of the Patriot Act.
vZ is a small time player in the destruction of privacy in the country. There are dozens of govt.
agencies who have dossiers on millions of citizens. Our country's best days are long gone. I'm
buying VZ stock regularly.
They've been doing it obviously, under the letter of law, since 2007. Anything else to lie about and pin on Obama this week? Tomorrow's Friday already, may have time for one more.
Our President Obama has a law degree from Harvard and was President of the Law Review there. He could be a top lawyer at any top firm he chooses. He is all about being lawful, accurate, and following the law. Get over the stereotypes and move into this century.
He was at Harvard? How come his transcript is sealed there? Just like his birth records are STILL sealed in Hawaii in spite of the fact that he supposedly produced a copy. He's a liar like all the other illiberal "liberals" that support him. Bible says; "In the day of the Lord the vile and filthy person shall no longer be called "liberal" nor the churl said to be bountiful."
Yes, he has a law degree. So what? What happened to the most transparent, open administration we could ever imagine? What happened to bill being put on the Internet for a few weeks before they were signed? What happened to no lobbyists in his administration? Does he keep any promises? Oh wait, I forgot about nationalized health care...that promise the did keep even when most didn't want it.
You members of the Hilter youth keep harping on Bush who used the program on suspected terrorists only like the program was designed to do. Obama is abusing the program to spy on on all Americans which you goose steppers have no problem with why?
This is a result of over-reacting after 9-11 by Bush and Congress. Then, last year when it could have been dropped, Congress voted to keep it, by a wide margin. Bush? Obama? Congress? politicians in general taking away our rights.
If I call someone in china, they can record my phone number. The phone company always records all the phone numbers and has them. Don't you see them on your bill? I have nothing to hide, and I think it is not intrusive. They can give the govt. the number and if they have cause later they can use it for security issues. It's good. Odd how people jump on Obama as listening in on the messages, and start impeaching him in five minutes. That isn't happening, either one..
Very alarming. The Obama Gestapo is taking more of your freedoms and privacy. This goes way beyond the Patriot Act. It is random surveillance without cause. The American Civil Liberties Union said it is "It’s analogous to the FBI stationing an agent outside every home in the country to track who goes in and who comes out,"
This has to be a lie being told by those evil clowns at Fox News. Ricky has already told us that the world would be a much simpler place with bright sunny days for all if only they would go away and folks would stop watching them. Surely his government wouldn't do anything like this?
Sheesh, winholder, grow up. Fox News lies consistently. What do you call someone who tells the truth most of the time, but consistently throws in blatant lies. You call that person a liar.
The fact that you people are feeling self-righteous because Fox News has been known to present actual real facts at times is telling. You should demand honesty ALL THE TIME. People who are dishonest or who intentionally set a false impression should be fired. Period. That is the absolute minimum standard. But throwing in some dishonesty and intentionally setting false impressions pretty much describes Fox News and the conservative media these days.
I had hoped that the Obama administration had put a stop to this sort of thing. Clearly we need to repeal or severely curtail the powers granted by the PATRIOT Act. Obama signed an extension to the PATRIOT Act two years ago when attempts to modify it in Congress failed.
I'm more prone to trust Obama than I ever was to trust Bush/Cheney, but I think we can agree that granting this kind of power to any president is dangerous. It is a ridiculous breach of individual liberty and it always has been.
