It is ironic the GOP House is trying to blame the Executive Branch of our govrnment....

do they forget THEY control the purse, and authorize spending.... NOW, teaparty section refuse to pay for what Congress authorized to buy??? i agree cutting spending should be front burner, but disagree the way to do that is to shut down our government. Congress is at fault, not the Executive Branch, already. I rest my cse.

    • If they need to debt ceiling increased to pay for what they have already planned to spend, that means they spent more than they had authority to spend. If they need to increase the debt to pay for what they have spent, where did they get the power to do that. You cannot continue to spend and THEN increase the debt to pay for it and survive as a country. At some point in time those in power have to look at the revenue being collected and they available funds to spend and make them match, just like million of American families are forced to do on a daily basis. Obama's statement is a crock. He is looking for a way to spend even more and use the debt as the reason to increase taxes. When that happens they will simply spend more and ignore the existing debt. It is a death spiral that is already out of control and no one in Washington will admit it or take action to halt the spiral.

    • There's a serious flaw in your logic. You state that they control spending, but at the same time you are complaining that they are trying to control spending. Maybe we need a little more than a hair's width of consensus before we dramatically transform the economy with a law that will impact everyone? Just a thought.

    • NO ... both house & senate were controlled the Dems at that time .. that's why they won .. (Initiated & backed by Obama)
      ... I rest my CSE, smiles !! ..

Need health insurance? The Obama administration has you covered. Simply dial 1-800-FUCKYO to reach the next available health-care provider.
Far from being a mistype, that's the official number that Health and Human Services wants Americans to dial when seeking health care. Obamacare's national call center really did list its number as 1-800-318-2596, helpfully spelling out President Barack Obama's tendency to blatantly flip the bird in plain view.
After allowing for the lack of letters attached to 1 on a traditional American telephone keypad, the number spells out a clear message. For every duped voter, every young invincible weighing the cost of a penalty versus a newly tripled yearly deductible, every ailing old granny in a wheelchair (whom, remember, Paul Ryan wants to push off a cliff) who needs adequate and affordable health care, Obama's message is:
        1-800-3(F) 8(U) 2(C) 5(K) 9(Y) 6(O).
That's 1-800-FUCKYO. Sadly, the Obama administration failed to swap the useless 1 for a more functional 8 to complete the heartfelt message, perhaps in consolation to former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel's tragically shortened middle finger.
