My Dad died. I tried to cancel his cellphone. In person. They told me I had to prove he died. Ok. I brought them the obituary. Not good enough. I had to get them the death certificate, which took around 20 daya. My 83 year old mother brought it to them and they still gave her heck. I'll make money on the stock, but a phone? obituary? anyone could get that. You need a death certificate to do anything and it NEVER takes 30 days to get that. The mortuary you used can NOT cremate or bury without one so a death certificate was at your disposal the whole time. You are a very incompetent family.
Why are you trying to finalize your father's financial affairs without a copy of the death certificate and why isn't your mother responsible for the account?

They wouldn't agree I was a customer with an account, and got rude about it. The mistake was they brought up something from years ago on their computer, a closed account. I was talking to them on my ATT land line at the time. That's the most ridiculous thing I could imagine a company to do, tell a paying customer for years, they aren't a customer. I went to Comcast, all is better.
