    • SBC deal could make giant
SBC Communications' deal to buy Southern New England Telephone drives SBC closer to becoming the first regional Bell to morph into a national phone giant. Monday, SBC said that it will buy feisty SNET for $4.4 billion in stock, plus $1.4 billion in assumed debt.

    • 1. Worldcom has built extensive domestic LD and data facilities in Europe, including an Internet backbone. AT&T has nothing comparable.

    • how about people that have puts are you saying their money isn't as important as yours-are you saying they have no interest in T news-their money isn't as green as yours -you nut listen to yourself-now I gonna put voodoo on you you no poop 1 week ok dong boy PORTFOLIO + $7600.00

    • Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

I hope the rude dog can read!

    • It would certainly be nice not to have people who speak down on a stock they don't own leave the board to those that do.I personally feel who ever invest in worldcom is too dumb to talk to.However I would never go to wc board to talk to them...matter of taste and up bringing I suppose.I guess we'll just have to wait until they become men and have progressed beyond whinning stupid bratS.What is wc in europe,,,anyone know....

    • If your accusing me of anything, your wrong period

I changed my tine because I liked his mature reply and what
I said was misinterpreted to begin with.

Why don't you just stick with AT&T and don't say you
werern't warned when Worldcom kicks your butt from here to
      Mars in stock % return.

There are alot of jerks on the interent I am learning and you
are just another one so who cares anyway.

Clec, good luck you sound like a human being unlike many
      others on this uhhhh thread.

I WILL waste no more more time with jerks like you.
Why don't you go join the Rainbow coalition or something,
seems like you have nothing better to do.

    • In Mr. Armstrong's announcement yesterday, he again mentioned aquisitions as a part of AT&T's strategy. Do you believe that Teleport is still in play? I think it makes a great deal of sense for AT&T to acquire TCG even at the inflated stock price. With TCG AT&T would get the following:

      1) Access to the highest spending business accounts (top 20% of accounts that Armstrong has mentioned in the past). These people have huge telecom expenditures and will be thirsting for data products and lucrative switched local services in the future.

      2) Local customers in almost all of the top metros

      3) An ISP (Cerfnet)

      4) Huge reduced costs in local access charges that they currently pay to the Bells. Bypassing the Bells would result in enormous reduction in AT&T's cost structure. They currently pay originating and terminating costs for both business and residential LD traffic.

      5) A good salesforce and good management with experience in local sales

What they wouldn't get would be network to service residential customers. I think they can wait for a better solution from the FCC for more equitable unbundling of the local loop or pursue the cable avenue. In the meantime, they can cream-skim just like MCI-Worldcom.

Regardless, I think a company like TCG is a good fit. They shouldn't let it slip away.

      Any comments?

      • 1. I suspect AT&T will buy these kinds of carriers. But the price
is all important since T's shareholders want a high rate of return on their money. T may have little choice other than bite the bullet ...

        2. The access savings for business customers are not that great. This is because most large businesses already get dedicated access. There could be substantial savings on residential telephony as well as the broadband access opportunity.

      • I read that "cream skin" means to help out white people on
prices while you take advantage of African Americans.

I don't think it is funny at all because Jessie Jackson is
        a !#%^&*^$ liar!!!!!

There are two groups now trying to block the MCIC WCOM deal
and they are both full of fierce LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh well, whatever I say won't change a thing and I prayed about
it and let it go yesterday (I truly believe in and follow God unlike Jessie Jackson - the fraud - the reason he is against
it is because he is not getting anything out of it for himself)

WOW AT&T got a hold while Worldcom got a Strong Buy rec this
morning doesn't that tell you all something.

Well I am sure you are smarter than Oppenheimer - sp?

        Good luck!!1

      • I could not agree with you more. TCG is so blatantly obvious as an AT&T acquisition. It is about time for AT&T to fire a missle over the deck of MCI, Worldcom, and in particular SBC! Of all the nerve of SBC doing this little SNET deal is just another attempt to rattle AT&T. If AT&T headquarters were in Ohio, SBC probably would have acquired Cincinnatti Bell!

When all of this dust settles, mark my words, AT&T will own either Ameritech or Southern Bell. My bet is Ameritech, which would explain Ameritech's feverish international expansion.

        Any other thoughts?
