I guess it will be another year or longer for
cable modem service to be available more widely. The
demand for high speed access is here now and ATT/TCI
hasn't given any sign that it's really coming. Given the
politics of open-access going on about, cable modem
service will be slow to implement. DSL is already
available in my area and I'm getting it installed in two
weeks (thanks to the recent GTE promotion of waiving
the cost of DSL modem and installation).
Back on. Complements cable build out. But what
spectrum/technologies are they using?

I guess AT&T is
committed to fixed wireless after all...
These guys have been following the company for
quite some time:
The target came down from 40$ or so 2 months ago and
now has stabilized around this level of 35$.
works in all cases...the computer is on with all
legal addresses and phone nmbers which are formal
subscribers and non subscribers...then a signal is sent,
known to me as the silver bullet, which registers all
the "on" sets, legal and not legal..that is how my
buddy got caught...
someone once said never steal
anything small..I say ..never steal
How hackable is cable! And how hackable DSL is as
well. It's not too well know, but because the DSL
connection is a always at the same address, it can be hacked
much easier than a dial-up connection, which varies
where it can be found. I predict a huge boom in
cyber-shit hitting the fan before the RBOCs and the ISPs
offering DSL do anything about this.
Look it up,
read about it...it's true.
..all one needs to do is hook up to the cable box
in their utility easment...after they find the post
that leads to their house...I had cable, then I
cancelled it because of all the re-runs..a friend came over
and said.what no cable...he went out and hooked it up
at night time...came back and voila...I had
cable...I made him go back and disconnect it...he swore up
and down that the cable company would never find
out...he has been doing it for years...he was arrested
We were informed today a banking software system
for wire transfers utilizing an ATT format was not
Y2K compliant. The bank gave us a patch, that we are
testing. They said ATT just informed them this week. Its
Nov 19 what else are they missing...
